Title: Scientific Software Engineer

This fast-growing SME is looking for a new Software Engineer to join their dynamic team in Manchester.
My client is a leading provider of expert advice and solutions within the engineering industry, where this role specialises in developing software for commercial applications.
The responsibilities include:
- Designing, developing and maintaining software for scientific applications
- Collaboration between departments, utilising knowledge of science and engineering
- Writing code in C++ and C# for implementation of scientific algorithms
- Optimising software performance
- Test and debug software
- Documentation of software designs, algorithms and usage
Ideal candidates will have:
- A degree in Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, Software Engineering or similar
- Experience developing scientific software
- Communication skills and the ability to work within a team
- Knowledge of parallel computing and multithreading
- Experience with Jira and Confluence
- Experience with virtual control systems, e.g. Bitbucket (minimum Git)
